Job market talking points

Manpower Survey

Employers in the U.S. plan to slow hiring activity during the second quarter of 2007, according to a Manpower Inc. survey. The seasonally adjusted survey results show that employers are more likely to maintain or reduce staff levels than ramp up hiring. Of the 14,000 U.S. employers surveyed, 28 percent expect to increase payrolls during the second quarter of 2007, while 7 percent expect to trim staff levels and 59 percent expect no change in hiring. Six percent are undecided about their hiring plans.

To summarize the findings:

So more than eight out of ten companies are hiring!

A card should contain two or three ways to contact the person (email, cell, landline) plus three or four skill sets that reflect what he/she does. Some examples that illustrate the point, but will need editing by a job seeker:

A business card helps people to recall a few key things about a job seeker and pass information along that will assist a person's job search. Help your job seekers make it easier for people to assist them with the Cliff notes version of their background!
