Jobs Ministry Meetings
OCTOBER 2010
Friday, Oct 1st at 9:30am: "Liminality-the Time from Our
Last Job to Our Next Career Position", presented by Al
Gustafson. Is it all about getting there or is it really about living the journey?
Al is associated with the Career Transition Center (CTC) of Chicago
(Old St. Pat's). He is also the leader
of the retreat titled, "Finding Work Without Losing Heart".
Find the real purpose of your time during transition.
Friday, Oct 8th at 9:30am: "Life Skills by Design" presented
by Pam O'Donnell of NCTV17. Her diverse professional background includes
banking, non-profit, healthcare, and career transition. She was awarded the
Career Management Practitioner Certification, trained and certified in the
Myers-Briggs Assessment and also a Certified Consumer Credit Counselor.
In her career transition business, she noticed that the majority of people don't spend
their time planning for their future. Did we plan our life or
did life just come at us fast? It's not too late for any of us
to make a change and start designing our lives. Are you ready
to make the change?
Friday, Oct 15th, at 9:30am: "Treat the Job Interview as
a Sales Call" presented by Mike Cooper. Prepare for your
interview as you would for a sales call using the PAPCE
selling technique. The biggest sales call you'll make is
selling yourself to the hiring manager. Using the PAPCE
technique (Preparation, Approach, Presentation, Close, and Evaluation),
you will be confident you did your best. Mike
is a recognized authority on consumer selling as well as the development
of effective selling strategies, and is founder
and Chief Sales Officer, at Sales Kitchen, a sales leadership
and sales coaching firm. Coop has managed, coached or trained
more than 1,200 sales professionals and earned numerous awards
for leadership and sales achievement.
