Survey of Sources of Hires, 2006

The Career Crossroads survey* of hiring activity offers insight into what works for employers actively engaged in sourcing and candidate development.  The survey had 22 company participants with 1.2 million employees and 124,000+ external hires. 

Sources of external hires: Top 3

-Referrals (employee, other): 25.6%

-Company websites: 20.7%

-Job boards: 12.3%

Other sources

-Print media: 6.9% -College: 3.8%
-Direct sourcing: 6.4% -Career fairs: 2.7%
-Re-hires: 5.2% -Temp to hire: 2.3%
-3rd party agencies: 4.8% -All other sources: 9%+

 

Key Finding: One out of four hires are from Referrals!
